OP, this is a genuinely genius method of tricking the human brain into beginning to understand the sort of scale that this looks like.

The notes are getting hung up on how the carbon offset for killing an oil executive was calculated, and y'all, it's not supposed to be an accurate calculation of exactly what would happen if you killed an oil executive, it's meant to highlight just how unbelievably vast the environmental impact of the bigwigs at BP or Exxon is compared to yours, and ultimately how the planet is being knowingly and purposefully killed by a small handful of uber wealthy individuals.

the fact that emily gwen lives in poverty while i can walk into target and buy unauthorized reproductions of their work is fucking disgusting frankly. corporations deserve to be hanged en masse but until we can do that for the love of g-d PLEASE keep queer money in the queer community. buy directly from queer artisans like emily, make your own pride merch if you have to, but we need to stop giving our money to rainbow capitalists who are literally, openly stealing from us already. i love target's pride section but i would rather spend $75 on a handmade flag someone actually sat and sewed out of real strips of coloured fabric so they could pay rent than $5 on a strip of screen-printed polyester that nobody got compensated for making at all.

like AGAIN antisemitism is so rooted in so many cultures that the western idea of evil, of what's wrong and whats inhuman, is almost entirely shaped around it. but still discussions of antisemitism r critically missing from media consumption, especially in the horror genre, and it ends up with people (often unknowingly, sure) parading around and praising beliefs and characteristics that have gotten jewish people killed en masse for over a millennia.

so no, i dont think you can call yourself a "progressive" horror fan, or a fan of vampires and witches, if you get defensive and mean and borderline racist when asked to examine what is it exactly that's supposed to be scary.

"ummmm its about the fear of the other" and who, pray tell, is this other.
(also this FAR from exclusive to western/european imagery and mythology)
